Critical Reception
The film opened with tremendous response with strong positive reviews from the viewers. The audience applauded it for the performance of Prithviraj as J.C.Daniel as well as the director Kamal for crafting up a brilliant work. The critics consider it as one of the best movies of Malayalam of recent times, with great direction and tremendous acting performances.
Veeyen of Nowrunning gave the film a rating of 3 stars out of 5, and in a spectacular review stated that "what is astonishing is that Kamal's film, despite maintaining a distance from us with regard to time and space, continues to fascinate us in multiple ways. Passionate, provocative and real heartrending, this is the stuff with which classic films are made."

On a sprawling canvas, Kamal diligently recreates an age and fills it with characters who go on to become iconic figures in the history of Malayalam cinema. Prithviraj can hold this role close to his heart, so can Mamta. The dialect of Prithviraj may seem a bit jarring at times. But he masks it with an over-powering rendition of a character that transforms from youth to an ageing, frail, defeated soul."

Plot Summary
Chacko and Hari are two young ad professionals who are fed up with their boss (Sandra Thomas) and her tantrums. They decides to take a break and head to Goa, where Chacko ends up meeting a beautiful foreigner (Sabreen Baker). മനു അങ്കിള്‍ സ്റ്റൈലില്‍ പുതിയ ചി
ത്രം
എല്ലാതരത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ട പ്രേക്ഷകരും ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടൊരു ചിത്രമായിരുന്നു മമ്മൂട്ടി നായകനായ മനു അങ്കിള്‍. ഡെന്നിസ് ജോസഫ് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത ആ ചിത്രം പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയത് 1988ലായിരുന്നു. ചിത്രവും ചിത്രത്തിലെ പാട്ടുകളും വലിയ ഹിറ്റായി മാറിയിരുന്നു. മലയാളചലച്ചിത്രങ്ങളിലെ നല്ല കുട്ടികള്‍ക്കായുള്ള ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടികയില്‍ മനു അങ്കിളും ഇടം നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇത്തരം ചിത്രങ്ങളെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്ന പ്രേക്ഷകര്‍ക്കായി മനു അങ്കിള്‍ മാതൃകയില്‍ ഒരു പുതിയ ചിത്രമെത്തുകയാണ്. ഒട്ടേറെ പ്രത്യേകതളുമായിട്ടാണ് ഈ ചിത്രമൊരുങ്ങുന്നത്. ജയസൂര്യയും രമ്യ നമ്പീശനുമാണ് ചിത്രത്തില്‍ പ്രധാന വേഷങ്ങളിലെത്തുന്നത്. ഇവര്‍ക്കൊപ്പം അഞ്ച് കുട്ടികളും ഉണ്ട്. കുട്ടികളെല്ലാം താരസന്തതികളാണെന്നതാണ് ശ്രദ്ധേയം. പക്ഷേ ഏതൊക്കെ താരങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളാണ് ചിത്രത്തില്‍ അഭിനയിക്കുന്നതെന്നകാര്യം ഇപ്പോഴും സസ്‌പെന്‍സാണ്. ഇക്കാര്യം അണിയറക്കാര്‍ പുറത്തുവിട്ടിട്ടില്ല. സംവിധാനരംഗത്തെ പുതുമുഖക്കാരായ റോജിന്‍, ഷനില്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നാണ് സിനിമ ഒരുക്കുന്നത്. രമ്യ നമ്പീശന്റെ സഹോദരനായ രാഹുല്‍ സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യനാണ് ചിത്രത്ിതന് സംഗീതമൊരുക്കുന്നത്. സാന്ദ്ര തോമസാണ് നിര്‍മ്മാതാവ്. പ്രതാപ് പോത്തന്‍ ചിത്രത്തില്‍ ഒരു പ്രധാനവേഷത്തിലെത്തുന്നുണ്ട്, മാത്രമല്ല ഒരു പ്രശസ്തനടന്റെ അതിഥിവേഷവും ചിത്രത്തിലുണ്ട്. ഈ നടന്‍ ആരാണെന്നകാര്യവും സസ്‌പെന്‍സാണ്. 2013 മാര്‍ച്ച് മാസത്തോടെ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ഷൂട്ടിങ് തുടങ്ങുമെന്നാണ് അരിയുന്നത്. കൊച്ചിയായിരിക്കും ലൊക്കേഷന്‍. എന്തായാലും മനു അങ്കിള്‍ ശൈലിയില്‍ ഒരുങ്ങാന്‍ പോകുന്ന ഈ ചിത്രം കുട്ടികളെയും കുടുംബപ്രേക്ഷകരെയും മുന്നിന്‍ക്കണ്ടാണ് ഒരുങ്ങുന്നത്. മനു അങ്കില്‍ നേടിയെടുത്തപോലെ ദേശീയ പുരസ്‌കാരവും സംസ്ഥാന അവാര്‍ഡുമെല്ലാം വാരിക്കൂട്ടാന്‍ പോന്നൊരു ചിത്രമാണോ ഏറെ സസ്‌പെന്‍സുകള്‍ ബാക്കിയാക്കുന്ന ഈ ചിത്രമെന്ന് കാത്തിരുന്ന് കാണാം.
Paathiramanal... This March
Plot : The story is about a private financer Eldho(Unni Mukundan), who lives in a hill station with his mother. His mother had become mentally challenged after she was raped by a police constable (Pradeep Rawat) during Eldho's childhood. His mother conceived from the rape and gave birth to a baby girl. Johnkutty (Jayasurya), Eldho's father is avenging his wife's death by going after the police constable and unfortunately dies.
After Eldho has grown up, he reaches Pathiramanal, a place in Kuttanad, in search of the constable to take revenge. There he meets Sara (Rima Kallingal). He realizes that Sara is the daughter of the constable. The drama is what the film is about

Take three for today
After a heavy weekend that saw multitude of releases, this week end will have three more releases. 'Shutter', 'David and Goliath' and '10.30 a m local call' all are the movies that will fight this week at the box Office. Shutter is already an acclaimed film with many awards in the recent IFFK which will boost its chances. While the rest of the movies, David and Goliath and 10 30 am.... also carries good preview reports.
'Etho sayahna' song from '10 30 am local call' is already a big hit while 'David and Goliath featuring Jayasuriya and Anoop Menon in the direction of Rajeevnath also feature two good songs.
Meanwhile, of the last week's entries Celluloid and Black butterfly' carries good word of mouth and will get an extended run at the Box office, while the other movies may not be able to continue with a good run. The other few that is having a fine to average run at the Mollywood Box office include 'Romans' currently into its seventh week, 'Annayum Rasoolum' which completes it's fifty days this week and 'Kammath and Kammath' which is in its fifth week. All these movies will keep their respective producers happy in the first month of trade.
